First and foremost rock, 349 km southwest of Alice Springs in the Northern Territory, the 2012 km long great barrier reef and the blue mountains with their endless eucalyptus trees are the legendary Ayers. The evaporating Eukalypusöl causes the typical blue shimmer and gave its name to the mountains.
